Yvette Mimieux

Yvette Mimieux (born January 8, 1942 in Los Angeles, California) is an actress with a French father and a Mexican mother. In 1960, she appeared in the teen movie, Where The Boys Are but probably her most famous role was in the motion picture version of H.G. Wells' classic, The Time Machine, co-starring Rod Taylor.

In it she played Weena, an inhabitant of a clan who live together in a seemingly tranquil paradise of an Earth of the far future, thousands of years proceeding the 20th century. She befriends Taylor's character after he travels to this time and place, as he attempts to explain to her the importance of history and civilisation, which the other members of the clan are indifferent to.
