YVH1 Droid

In the fictional Star Wars EU New Jedi Order novel Star by Star, the Yuuzhan Vong Hunter One combat droid or YVH 1 was a deadly battle droid constructed by the New Republic company Tendrando Arms (a business venture of entrepreneur Lando Calrissian) as a response to the ruthless extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong invaders. They were activated two years after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion began. The YVH 1 droids were equipped with the latest technology including search-and-identity-engineering which could seek out Yuuzhan Vong even in their Ooglith Masquers. These deadly automatons were also programmed to react to all Yuuzhan Vong tactics and could speak via vocoders several war cries and taunts in the Yuuzhan Vong language.

Their robust, skeletal frames and skull faces made them resemble Yuuzhan Vong. Circuits were on show in the droids' largely proportioned limbs and photoreceptors shone bright red from their deep eye sockets. Their blackish greyish camouflage armour which covered their artificial joints resembled the Yuuzhan Vong voduun crab armour. This armour was even more advanced than the voduun crab armour of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors because it was fitted with layers of self-healing laminanium armour. Their left arms could be fitted with a variety of blaster cannons while their right arms could be fitted with 50 different weapons, from heavy laser cannons to sonic rifles and projectile launchers thus making them deadly killing machines.

These deadly YVH 1 Droids, whose appearance was blasphemous to the Yuuzhan Vong, were successful in demoralizing the Yuuzhan Vong. YVH 1 Droids served the New Republic and its succesor government the Galactic Alliance in many battles including the Fall of Coruscant, the occupation of Borleias and the liberation of Coruscant. Specialized versions of the YVH 1 droids were created including adaptable camouflage droids, aquatic versions and miniature versions fitted into the shells of MSE-series droids for espionage.
